Connect Zoho Calendar

Your company runs on Zoho? Connect your own Zoho Calendar and Freesbe uses it the way it uses a Google or Microsoft calendar:

  • Free/busy. Teammates see when you’re busy while they schedule a meeting, booking links skip your busy times, and your status says 📅 In a meeting while you’re in one. Freesbe only sees busy times, never what the meetings are.
  • The Calendar app, if you turn it on: a daily agenda, a reminder with the join link before each meeting, and a message for each new invitation.

Each person connects their own calendar; there’s nothing for an admin to set up first.

1. Connect your calendar

  1. Open Preferences from your account menu and choose Calendar.
  2. Click Connect Zoho Calendar and sign in to Zoho as you usually do. Zoho finds your data center on its own: the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, India, Australia, Japan, Canada, Saudi Arabia or China.
  3. Click Accept on Zoho’s page. It asks for your name and email address and your free/busy times.

Leave Show “In a meeting” while I’m in one on if you want your status set for you. In the desktop app, Connect Zoho Calendar opens Freesbe in your web browser; connect there and the app picks it up.

2. Turn on the Calendar app (optional)

  1. Under Calendar app, click Turn on the Calendar app.
  2. Zoho asks again, this time to read your calendars and events. Click Accept.
  3. Pick what you get: the Daily agenda and when it comes, Remind me before meetings and Invitations and changes.
  4. Click Send today’s agenda now to see what it looks like.

Messages come from 📅 Calendar in your DM with yourself, in the workspace you were in when you turned it on. The Calendar app reads your default Zoho calendar.

Answering invitations

Zoho Calendar doesn’t let other apps answer invitations for you. An invitation in Freesbe has Open in calendar instead of Yes, Maybe and No: click it to answer in Zoho Calendar. Join buttons, reminders and the agenda work just as they do with Google and Microsoft.

Stop it

Section titled “Stop it”

Turn off the Calendar app stops the messages and keeps free/busy. Disconnect gives Freesbe’s access back to Zoho and forgets everything the Calendar app remembered.
